A question I get asked a lot is “How do you organize your card stock?” I mean, let’s be honest, I own a TON of paper. It would be literally impossible for me to find what I was looking for if I were not the hyper organized crafter that I am. Also, I live in a very small house with two very rambunctious kids. There is no space to spare, and certainly none that I can call entirely my own. So here’s what I’ve devised to organize my paper.
Here’s a little glimpse of my craft space, and you can see that I’ve used a file sorter to hold my card stock. I keep it all in 8.5×11 sheet protectors and what’s a little hard to see in the picture, is that I’ve written the names of each color on the white part that goes into the binder. I also stick any small cut up pieces of card stock back into the sleeve so that I don’t have little random bits all over the place and I can use what I have more effectively. This entire file sorter slides right onto a shelf on my craft desk and I can slip out any paper I need and slide it right back in it’s place.
I also tend to mix up my paper and sort it by the rainbow rather than the categories of brights, subtles, regals and neutrals that Stampin’ Up uses because I think more along the spectrum. But you should feel free to arrange them in whatever way works for you. I also keep my current In-Colors separate in the front of the rack. This is usually because these are the colors I’m using the most and am more likely to grab for a quick project. Also, they are usually the colors I’m most enamored with at the moment. What can I say? I’m a sucker for new things.
So that’s a little peek at how I try to keep my craft space organized. Leave me a comment and let me know how you like to keep your paper from taking over your space!
