Today I’ve got an awesome layout I did in A Split Second in My Digital Studio. I am having a bit of a hard time adjusting to Daylight savings time and it’s made me not want to do a whole lot of anything. So that means I’ve got myself parked here in front of my computer and in about 10 minutes I came up with this awesome little layout:
One of the things I love the most about MDS is that I can take a pre-made layout and in a few minutes I can make it my own. Put in my own pictures, add a few more photo boxes or embellishments and I’m done. And when I’ve finished I’ve got a perfectly coordinated scrapbook layout with my digital pictures already re-sized to fit the boxes I’ve created.
Don’t get me wrong, I have quite a few paper scrapbooks that I’ve lovingly created and they are awesome, but going back to cut and fit and crop the pictures into the spots I’ve left is never a happy little jaunt for me. I think this is because I take a TON of photos. Over the course of a year I take easily over 1,000 digital photos on my iphone and on my dSLR camera. Just going through and picking a manageable number I like is hard enough. Then to do layouts and crop them and embellish the pages… whew, I’m overwhelmed just thinking about it.
But MDS is on my laptop and I can sit on the couch after the girls go to bed and watch some mindless TV shows while I put together a page layout for the month or so.
Now this particular layout I’ve done this morning is not anything date specific, but rather a small sample of some silly snapshots I’ve taken of my twins that probably won’t make it into their actual annual scrapbook. When I started this little layout I was just playing around with the designer templates and I found the “A Split Second 12×12 Template”. It was only $2.95 and worked as a great jumping off point for me to stoke up my own creativity and now I’ve got something I like so much that those silly little snapshots just might make it into this years album after all!
What do you think of this layout? Have you used the designer templates in MDS?
